post-Production stage
“Students will examine their own conceptions of writing and research in response to their inquiry, reading, and writing throughout the course.” - Outcome 4
Keywords: considering, demonstrating, reflecting
Post-production is as essential to film production as turning the camera on and hitting record. We create the meaning and message at this stage of the process by reviewing all the footage, combining them, re-shooting any unfulfilled footage, and adding in many post-production elements such as audiovisual effects and finishing. This stage is as crucial as the reflective activity in the writing process where we review, reflect, and reconstruct the writing. The purpose of reflective writing is to help us learn from a particular practical experience and to make connections between what we are taught in theory and what we need to do in practice.
To demonstrate how reflective activity made a big impact on my writing development, I chose to first present the professor’s comments on my Final Research Article. Then I include my Revised Research Article based on those comments. This was to show the way I reflected on my writing with the comments in consideration, challenged my previous argument to ensure its credibility based on the provided evidence and findings, reconstructed the methods of my investigation to make it crystal clear and understandable, and sharpened my conclusion to show to what extent my Research Article could academically take part in providing new knowledge in the field and out of the field.
Next, I present my e-portfolio wireframe worksheet to convince the reader of the value of my project and my credibility as a researcher. This is to prove that I have a plan for my work and that my e-portfolio project will be successful. Then I present step-by-step background ideas on the structure and sequentially highlight the improvements on each stage of development.
